Pedestrian dies in crosswalk on Boulder Highway

Fatal accident

A 65-year-old man was killed this morning in a crash in the eastern valley while walking in a crosswalk on Boulder Highway, police said.

Officers responded at 6:17 a.m. to the crash at Boulder Highway and Missouri Avenue, which is south of Boulder Highway's intersection with Tropicana Avenue. Police said 52-year-old Wayne Morgan was northbound on Boulder Highway in his 2001 Chevrolet pickup truck when the vehicle struck the pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s name after notifying family members.

This is the 38th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
