Officials called off a search for additional human remains in the Lead Mead National Recreation Area this afternoon a day after a piece of a human jaw bone was found in the water.

A visitor found the bone in the Kingman Wash area on Thursday, then the discovery was reported to the National Park Service and Metro Police, park service spokesman Andrew Munoz said.

After Metro’s dive team didn’t find anything in the immediate area, the park service this afternoon called off its search for more remains.
