Sahara, repaved

Regardless of your political leanings, there's a bit of economic stimulus residents of east Las Vegas have to be celebrating.

Sahara Avenue between Nellis Boulevard and Sloan Lane has been repaved. The project isn't complete -- lane markings haven't been put down and there are still cones and signs along the well-traveled route. But the main irritant -- arguably the roughest patch of pavement in the Las Vegas Valley over the past two years -- is gone.

As some of those remaining signs note, the project was paid for with funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, better known as the stimulus.
