Among the ways a political debate can be parsed is with software that offers a visual depiction of the words spoken during the exchange. The result is called a word cloud; the more often a word is spoken, the larger it appears. Whether the word was used effectively, of course, is a different matter. These clouds depict the words spoken during Thursday’s debate between

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (in blue) and his Republican opponent, Sharron Angle.
