The Metro Police narcotics unit is investigating a business this afternoon in the western valley that is suspected of dispensing marijuana, officials said.
Metro spokeswoman Barbara Morgan said Las Vegas city officials were at the business in the 7600 block of Westcliff Drive for a licensing matter. They called police after suspecting the business might be operating as a marijuana dispensary, Morgan said.
In Nevada, medical marijuana dispensaries are illegal. Nevada is a "right to grow" state, meaning that a patient who has legal permission from a doctor to use marijuana must grow it in his or her home, she said.
