Add another name to the list of people who understand the budget and who understand that taxes will be part of the mix next session: Mary Lau. Lau, the veteran head of the Retailers Association of Nevada, said Monday on “Face to Face” the budget cannot be balanced without a tax increase. She indicated she thought a sales tax on services would be in the mix. Her comments came immediately after fiscal maven Jeremy Aguero said matter-of-factly that taxes will be needed. So that makes it almost unanimous — except, of course, for the two guys running for governor. The lies end in 2011.
