I hope my fellow Nevadans don’t get the idea that Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval, supported by the Republican legislators in Carson City, are trying to prevent tax increases to protect the people. No, their goal is to protect corporations in Nevada, especially the casino and mining industries, from having to pay more taxes.
To protect industry from such increases, these Republicans are willing to see our schools and state agencies be so poorly funded as to make it difficult for them to provide adequate education and service.
Democratic legislators are working to prevent such a disaster, but they need the support of some Republican legislators. If you are represented by a Republican legislator, contact him and tell him that you want the interests of the people, especially children, placed before those of corporations.
