An arrest warrant has been issued for a 26-year-old man who allegedly shot and killed a man in the western valley in late January.
Johnny Esquivel, 26, is wanted by Metro Police for the alleged murder of 39-year-old Edward Wernicke. Authorities say Esquivel knew the victim.
Police were called Jan. 20 to the 500 block of Slayton Avenue, near Jones Boulevard and Alta Drive, to reports of a shooting. Wernicke was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
