More than 150 years of Pueblo Indian culture will take up residence in the Clark County Museum when "Pueblo Indian Art: Ongoing Traditions" premieres on Friday.
The exhibit will be open through June 3 at the museum, 1830 S. Boulder Highway in Henderson. A free reception will be held on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., which will include a gallery talk and tour.
Jewelry, pottery, baskets, textiles and other artifacts from the Pueblo people will make up the exhibit. The Pueblos have been prominent in the American Southwest since before the arrival of the first European explorers.
"The Pueblo people have been producing functional art for themselves and as trade for centuries," Dawna Joliff, curator of exhibits at the museum, said in a news release. "By utilizing native plants, rocks, minerals and clay, artists produced beautiful objects for everyday use and special occasions.
The Clark County Museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for senior or children ages 3 to 17. For more information, call 702-455-7955.
