Gine DeGeorge’s 6-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Pryatel-Farmer with less than four minutes remaining Thursday gave the Faith Lutheran football team a 15-9 victory against host Mojave.
It was the first road win in the 4A classification for the Crusaders, who transitioned from the 3A in 2009. It was also Faith Lutheran’s first win since Week 1.
“Any time you can get a win in the Northwest, you take it,” Faith Lutheran coach Jake Kothe said.
The game was scoreless at halftime before Mojave took a 3-0 lead on a field goal. But DeGeorge, who completed 19 of 36 passes for 177 yards, connected with Trent Dolby for a short touchdown to put Faith ahead, 7-3.
After Mojave retook the lead at 9-7, Faith Lutheran recovered a fumble inside the Mojave 20-yard line late in the game. DeGeorge did the rest in passing for the game-winning score.
Farmer led the Crusaders with six catches for 72 yards, while Chris Mays had four receptions for 45 yards and 11 rushes for 38 yards.
