Hiker, 61, barely injured in 80-foot fall at Red Rock Canyon

A 61-year-old man who plummeted 80 to 100 feet while hiking Wednesday at Red Rock Canyon sustained nonlife-threatening injuries, Metro Police said.

The man suffered a cut over his eye, police said.

Metro’s Search and Rescue received the call around 6:20 p.m. and is headed to White Rock Spring’s Angel Food Wall inside the national conservation area, police said.

Crews are on the scene working to pull the man out of the area.
