Metro traffic officer arrested on counts related to workers comp fraud

A Metro Police officer is on unpaid leave after his arrest earlier this week involving workers compensation fraud.

Officer John A. Wilson, 46, a 17-year veteran of the Metro force, turned himself in Monday at the Clark County Detention Center on charges of theft and attempted theft related to workers compensation.

Wilson was released on bail.

At the time of his arrest, Wilson was assigned to the LVMPD Traffic Bureau.

According to a statement Friday afternoon from Metro, the Nevada Attorney General’s Office will assume the ongoing investigation and prosecution of this case.
