15-month-old toddler tests positive for hallucinogenic drug

Metro Police are investigating a Tuesday night incident in which a 15-month-old child was taken to the hospital and tested positive for the drug PCP, authorities said.

The child, whose name was not released, was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center about 7:30 p.m., police said.

Medical personnel tested the child and found the toddler had been exposed to the hallucinogenic drug, police said.

Metro’s child abuse and neglect unit is investigating the incident, police said. No additional details about the condition of the child were immediately available.
