Garage blaze
A blaze engulfed a home’s garage in the northeast valley Thursday afternoon, displacing a family of six, Clark County officials said.
County firefighters responded about 1:39 p.m. to the garage fire at 1953 Continental Ave., near Lake Mead Boulevard and Toiyabe Street.
They arrived to find the garage fully engulfed, but they prevented the fire from spreading to the house, officials said.
One adult was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, officials said. The Red Cross responded to help the three adults and three children displaced by the fire.
Fire investigators estimate the blaze caused $10,000 in damage, but a cause has not been determined.
