Woo hoo! Hurray! Harry Reid has decided to resign from the U.S. Senate. Well, at least that is what I surmised from the teaser for the Monday Las Vegas Sun.
That teaser said “Harry Reid’s hope for 2012? A less contentious Congress.” Because Harry Reid, the meddler-in-chief (as the Sun’s Jon Ralston calls him) has often stated that bills he personally opposes will not even be brought to the floor for discussion, he has guaranteed a contentious atmosphere in Congress.
It follows, therefore, that the only way our Congress can be less contentious is for the Senate to bring in a new leader, one who will actually work with both parties, in both the House and the Senate, for the benefit of all the people — regardless of political affiliation. And that means that the meddler-in-chief will have to resign and be replaced with such a leader.
All we the people can hope for is that I have read this teaser correctly and that the Senate has decided — finally — to bring in someone who can help unite our country by being less contentious. Goodbye Harry!
