The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman killed in a car accident Tuesday on Interstate 15 near Spring Mountain Road.

Olivia Mota, 19, died of multiple injuries, the coroner said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened about 12:53 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway when a black BMW sedan struck a parked paving truck, Nevada Highway Patrol troopers said. Mota was a passenger in the sedan.

Witnesses told investigators the BMW was speeding in the far-left lane when it veered right, fishtailed and spun out, troopers said. The car then slid toward the middle of the highway and struck the work truck, which was parked along the median.

Mota died on impact. The male driver was transported to University Medical Center with head trauma, troopers said. No one else was injured.

Authorities are investigating what caused the accident.
