Clark High School’s roof caught fire on Saturday while construction workers were repairing it on Saturday, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue officials said.

Officials said the roofing adhesive caught fire, emitting a thick black smoke from the center of the school’s roof around 2 p.m. Firefighters from Las Vegas and Clark County arrived on scene and put out the fire within 20 minutes.

Officials said the damage was contained to the newly laid roofing material and did not affect the inside of the school. Construction workers were allowed to return to the site to repair damage.
