Metro Police are stepping up enforcement to crack down on drunk driving during the Thanksgiving holiday and will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint Wednesday to catch impaired drivers.

The sobriety checkpoint will be from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 3 a.m. Thursday in the southwest valley.

A special emphasis will be placed on drugged drivers, police said, and officers trained in drug recognition will be evaluating impaired drivers.
