Gentlemanly attire belies armed robber’s actions in Las Vegas

Police released these surveillance photos of a man wanted in connection with two armed robberies of stores in the Las Vegas Valley. In both instances, the suspect was dressed in a shirt and tie and also sporting a hat. He walked into the business, drew a handgun and demanded merchandise from the display cases before running away.

Metro Police is looking for a man who has committed armed robberies at two Las Vegas businesses since late August.

In a news release issued Monday, police said in both instances the suspect was dressed in a shirt and tie and also sporting a hat. He walked into the business, drew a handgun and demanded merchandise from the display cases before running away.

The first robbery occurred around 4 p.m. Aug. 30 in the area of North Durango Street and Deer Springs Way in the far northwest valley.The second armed robbery occurred at 4:48 p.m. Sept. 13 in a store near West Charleston Boulevard and South Durango Street, police said.

Police described the robber as a white male, 25 to 35 years old, 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-11, weighing from 180 to 210 pounds and with blond hair.

Police said he was last seen wearing a black Kangol, a dark, longsleeve button-down shirt with a lime green tie, tan pants and dress shoes.
