Bryan Sanchez, a chef at Johnny Mac’s Bar and Grill in Henderson, was getting ready to open Thursday morning when he heard a loud noise and watched as a car crashed into the front window of the restaurant.
Luckily, neither Sanchez, who was about 15 feet away behind a counter, nor two other employees were injured. The driver, an elderly woman, did not appear to be injured, either, Sanchez said.
The crash happened about 10 a.m., a half hour before the eatery at 842 South Boulder Highway was to open for business. The dining area was strewn with bricks and glass.
As a result of the crash, the restaurant opened about a half hour late.
Several weeks ago, a car crashed into the neighboring Friendly Donut House.
