A Las Vegas man awaiting sentencing in the death of a 12-year-old trick-or-treater while driving drunk last year was arrested Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence, Metro Police said.

About 6 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to a two-vehicle collision on Silvered Bark Drive, near Sahara Avenue and Town Center Drive in Summerlin, police said. No details about the crash were immediately available.

Justin Caramanica, 42, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving without proof of insurance and driving with a suspended license, police said.

On Oct. 31, Caramanica hit and killed Faith Love while she was trick-or-treating near Sandstone Bluffs and Wesley Lake Place, near Sahara Avenue and Hualapai Way. He pleaded guilty to driving under the influence causing death or substantial bodily harm, according to court records.

Caramanica is awaiting sentencing Nov. 5.

At his last court appearance, a judge denied Caramanica’s request to have an alcohol-monitoring device removed.
