NV Energy worker burned while working on power box

An NV Energy worker sustained serious burns after being shocked while working on a power box near Cimarron Road and Washington Avenue at around 5:55 p.m. Friday.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski said there were multiple reports of an explosion at the intersection. The worker’s clothes caught fire after he was shocked. NV Energy employees assisted the man until Las Vegas Fire and Rescue emergency units arrived.

He was transported to University Medical Center, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
