Map of The Atomic
Atomic Liquors, which has pushed its bar opening back to sometime in May, has formed a partnership with the National Atomic Testing Museum.
Kent and Lance Johns, who own the Atomic, 917 Fremont St., will devote space on one wall of the bar to memorabilia – Geiger counters, the well-known “Miss Atomic” photo and the like.
The museum, 755 E. Flamingo Road, in turn, has scheduled a “Pub Lecture” for Saturday, April 27, at the bar. The lecture will feature David “Bio” Baranek, who was an adviser on the 1986 movie, “Top Gun.” Baranek, a former topgun flight instructor, wrote the 2010 book, “Topgun Days: Dogfighting, Cheating Death, and Hollywood Glory as One of America's Best Fighter Jocks.”
The charge to see the lecture is $20. Baranak will meet attendees at 6 p.m., with the lecture beginning at 6:30. For more information call 702-794-5151.
