A Red Flag fire warning for Lake Mead will remain in effect through 5 p.m. today, as high winds and low humidity create conditions conducive for wildfires, the National Weather Service said.

The weather service initially issued the alert covering the Lake Mead National Recreation Area at 5 a.m. Monday. Wind speeds in the area today were about 20 mph with gusts hitting about 29 mph. Humidity was at 18 percent.
