A woman riding a scooter died Wednesday after she hit a 2000 Honda Accord while she was trying to make a left-hand turn, Metro Police said.
The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. at Carey Avenue and Sandy Lane, police said. She was heading eastbound on Carey Avenue and tried to turn northbound on Sandy Lane. That’s when the 45-year-old woman hit the sedan, police said.
The woman was transported to University Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Officials said this is the 10th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
