Employees of the Four Queens Hotel and Casino rushed to extinguish a fire inside one of the hotel signs early Friday, according to a Las Vegas Fire & Rescue report.
Las Vegas firefighters responded about 7:30 a.m. to reports of smoke coming from one of the Four Queens marquee signs over the sidewalk on Third Street. Employees used at least half a dozen fire extinguishers to put out the fire before the fire engines arrived.
An electrician was working on the sign when some debris in the sign caught fire, possibly from a spark, said Tim Szymanski, spokesman for Las Vegas Fire & Rescue. Damage was contained to the sign and estimated at $500.
There were no injuries.
