When I was in Nassau, Bahamas, recently, the cab rates to anywhere on the island were fixed and posted at taxi stands and in the cabs.
The Las Vegas taxi companies have always been very protective of their turf. Why else have they kept out any residential shuttle services, which are popular — and cheaper than taxis — in other cities?
