The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified three people who died in a wrong-way crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 15 near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

They are Aldo Diaz-Mafra, 20, of Las Vegas, Chitra Jain, 58, from India and Ashutosh Jain, 28, of Belmont, Texas.

The Nevada Highway Patrol said the head-on collision happened about 4:30 a.m. on Interstate 15 South near Speedway Boulevard.

A gold Acura Legend was headed north in the southbound lane and collided head-on with a white GMC Yukon sport utility vehicle.

The driver of the Acura driver, the driver of the SUV and a female passenger in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene, state troopers said.

Four other passengers in the SUV — two males and two females — were injured and transported by ambulance to University Medical Center, where they were in critical condition, officials said.
