The Palo Verde High football team surrendered a touchdown to visiting Durango today early in the first quarter to fall behind by six points.
The Panthers wouldn’t be challenged the remainder of the night, closing the game with 77 unanswered points in a 77-6 victory.
Darrion Finn scored three ways for Palo Verde — he returned an interception for a touchdown, had a punt return for a touchdown and added a rushing touchdown.
Parker Rost completed 4 of 5 passes for 103 yards and a touchdown to Jake Ortale. Rost also rushed for a touchdown. Backup quarterback Graeson Vereen also had a touchdown pass, hooking up with Jordan Bruner for 20 yards.
Running back Ty Fuller touched the ball twice, scoring a pair of touchdowns and gaining 114 yards.
Next week, Palo Verde faces Arbor View in the Northwest League championship game. Both teams are undefeated in league play.
