Last weekend, I had the privilege of making the Honor Flight for veterans. (Honor Flight Network takes veterans to memorials in Washington, D.C.)
This once-in-a-lifetime experience included an unforgettable thrill. When we arrived home and walked through the gate, we were greeted by a platoon of Metro’s finest, standing at attention with bagpipes playing and a huge crowd greeting us with cheers, hugs and handshakes! This reception topped anything on the trip. Please allow me to use this medium to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those people who took the time and effort to make this greeting possible.
