There isn’t much left to be said about Faith Lutheran’s Keenan Smith.
The senior running back added three more touchdowns to his growing total, leading Faith Lutheran to a 27-12 victory over Chaparral.
“His play is really doing all of the talking,” Faith Lutheran coach Vernon Fox said. “I told everyone in the preseason that he was an explosive player, and we’re leaning our belief on him.”
Smith didn’t have rushing numbers that immediately jump out at you (46 yards on 12 carries). But what he continues to do is get into the end zone, tallying another three against the Cowboys (1-2) that started with a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Smith has scored nine touchdowns this season (seven rushing, two on special teams).
With Smith leading the way, the Crusaders (2-2) have rallied to win back-to-back games after starting the year 0-2.
“That has been the biggest positive in the first month of the season is that we’ve done better each week,” Fox said. “Everyone is obviously confident in the ability he possesses.”
Seitu Wyche led the way for Chaparral, rushing for 59 yards on 20 carries with a touchdown.
