Car crash leaves scores of Summerlin residents without electricity

Thu, Sep 19, 2013 (10 p.m.)

A wreck in the Sun City area of Summerlin this evening left about 100 NV Energy customers without electrical service, officials said.

Company spokeswoman Kelley Mulroy said that about 8 p.m. a car struck a piece of equipment, interrupting power service for the residents.

“We hope to have it fixed fairly quickly, but we don’t have an estimated time yet,” Mulroy said. “Hopefully it’ll be back up here shortly.”

Crews remained at the location as of about 9:45 p.m. working on repairs.
