Road rage led to a fatal predawn shooting today near the Santa Fe Station, police said.

Officer Larry Hadfield said two motorists were seen arguing as they traveled down the the 6800 block of Lone Mountain before someone inside a dark car fired several gunshots and sped away.

When police arrived about 1:45 a.m., the victim’s body was lying in the middle of the road near the casino. His age and identity have not yet been released.

Witnesses said the shooter’s car may have had a damaged taillight.

No other details about the shooting, such as what spurred the fight, were available Saturday afternoon.
