I just have one request for Sen. Ted Cruz and his fellow Tea Party zealots who are obsessed with shutting down the federal government. I ask only that when push comes to shove, they have the courage of their convictions and shut it down — all of it. I don’t want them to have any special funding for the military and Social Security. They should allow the maximum number of citizens to see and feel their vision for the country. I for one am anxious to see how the American public would react.
