A state panel has narrowed down a short list of judicial candidates for Nevada's newly formed appeals court.
Three judges will serve on the new court, which will be based in Las Vegas. The Nevada Commission on Judicial Selection announced Thursday that it had whittled a list of 36 applicants down to nine — three per each new judgeship. The applicants, who had to be Nevada attorneys with 15 years of legal experience, were picked after a series of interviews in front of the panel this week.
Gov. Brian Sandoval will select three new judges from the panel's list of finalists. The finalists' applications are posted on the Nevada Supreme Court website:
