Accident scene

Two women are dead and a man is in serious condition after an early morning accident today in downtown Las Vegas.

Metro Police say shortly before 1 a.m., a 2005 Hyundai Sonata driven by Bronik Sardaryan, 21, was traveling along West Ogden Avenue near South City Parkway when he lost control of the vehicle at a curve in the roadway. The car struck a bridge pier and spun into the westbound lane of Ogden before coming to a stop.

One passenger was pronounced dead at the scene; another was pronounced dead after being transported to University Medical Center. Police said the deceased were women, ages 20 and 21. The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified them as Joann Zermeno, 20, and Briana Medina, 21. Both are from Las Vegas.

Sardaryan also was transported to UMC.

Today’s crash brings the number of vehicle-related deaths in Metro's area to a dozen this year.
