Two Las Vegas men on a boating trip remain missing in Lake Mead after a weekend search of more than 30,000 acres of land and water failed to locate them.

Three men were reported missing Thursday after they failed to return from a boating trip on Lake Mead, near Echo Bay.

Using a helicopter, a search crew found one man’s body Friday about a half mile north of the boat. The man was identified as Oscar Dixon Jr., 48, of North Las Vegas, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

More than 100 people were involved in the search Saturday but came up empty, Lake Mead National Recreation Area spokeswoman Christie Vanover said.

The search was scaled back Sunday to two boats from the National Park Service and Nevada Department of Wildlife and continued today. The search was focused on the area between Gull Islands and Stewart’s Point.
