A 20-year-old Las Vegas man was killed Tuesday in a snowboarding accident at the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort on Mount Charleston.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified him as Christopher Jeffrey Ruby.

Ski patrol members responded about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to help a snowboarder who had been in an accident.

Patrol members provided aid to Ruby and called Mount Charleston’s volunteer fire department and the Nevada Division of Forestry for additional assistance, Clark County spokesman Erik Pappa said.

A helicopter transported Ruby to a Las Vegas hospital, where he died from blunt force trauma to the chest, coroner’s officials said.

Details of the accident remain unclear.
