With the onset of summer, Nevada is subject to rising numbers on the thermometer and at the gas pump.

Nevadans are paying 9 cents more for gas compared to a month ago, with the average price for a gallon of unleaded fuel at $3.89, according to the AAA’s fuel gauge report. The price is up 27 cents from April.

Prices, however, could start to stabilize, said Cynthia Harris, a spokeswoman for AAA Nevada.

In Las Vegas, gas is up 12 cents to $3.86 a gallon, while in Henderson the average is $3.88, up 13 cents.

Gas in North Las Vegas is averaging $3.83 a gallon, up a dime but still the cheapest in the state. The most expensive gas in Nevada is in Reno, where a gallon was up a penny to $4.01.

The national average was steady at $3.65.

Nationwide, Hawaii has the most expensive gas at $4.36 a gallon, and south Carolina is cheapest at $3.37. Drivers in Los Angeles are paying an average of $4.14 a gallon.
