A 27-year-old woman was crossing Boulder Highway in a marked crosswalk this afternoon when she was hit and killed by a vehicle that failed to yield, Henderson Police said.
The accident occurred about 1:30 p.m. as the pedestrian was crossing Boulder Highway at Lowrey Street, just north of Lake Mead Parkway, police said.
The woman was hit when the driver of a northbound Jeep Cherokee, 84-year-old Paul Bennett, failed to yield, police said.
Speed, drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
Northbound lanes of Boulder Highway were closed in the area.
This is the sixth traffic-related death in Henderson this year.
