A woman is dead after a single vehicle accident early Sunday morning, Las Vegas Metro Police said.
The accident occurred at 2:52 a.m. near Mountain Vista Street and Russell Road after the 34-year-old driver lost control of her car and struck a street light, a water main box and a block wall surrounding a nearby house in the residential area of Carol Circle, police said.
The woman reportedly failed to stay in her lane as she travelled northbound on Mountain Vista, eventually striking a curb and driving onto a sidewalk.
Police arrived on the scene to find the victim's 2004 GMC Yukon rolled onto its side and the driver partially ejected. She had not been wearing a seatbelt, police said.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident is under investigation.
This is the 43rd traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction so far this year.
