Mon, Jul 28, 2014 (5:30 p.m.)

A two-vehicle accident involving a cement truck caused heavy delays on Interstate 15 this afternoon.

The accident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. when a cement truck traveling southbound toward Tropicana hit a black Mercedes, causing it to hit the divider and flip over, Clark County Deputy Fire Chief Jon Klassen said.

The passenger of the Mercedes was able to get out of the car but was later transported to the hospital with unknown injuries, Klassen said.

Some northbound and southbound lanes were closed as responders investigated the scene.
