A man will do hard time for tricking a Las Vegas woman into a bogus investment scheme, according to the Nevada Attorney General’s Office.

Clark County District Judge Valorie Vega sentenced John J. Englehart, 67, of Las Vegas on Tuesday from almost two years to eight years in prison, according to court records.

Englehart pleaded guilty to one count of securities fraud in March.

Court records show he must also pay $25,000 in restitution to the victim and $1,536 to the Attorney General's Office.

Englehart misrepresented companies called Mississippi Parts, LP and “I-TECH-P” to the victim “on or about November 2007 to August 2008,” according to the release.
