A motorcyclist and a toddler have been transported to the hospital after a crash Tuesday evening in the east valley.

Metro Police received reports about 5:40 p.m. of a man losing control of a 2004 Suzuki Intruder motorcycle carrying three people near Hollywood and Lake Mead boulevards, Lt. Dave Valenta said.

The 21-year-old man, identified as Dean Aubrey Dungan II, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and crashed the motorcycle carrying his 18-year-old girlfriend and a 3-year-old boy, police said.

The motorcycle was traveling south on Easement Lane when it failed to properly make a right turn at the intersection of Mendon Lane, according to a Metro Police media release. The Suzuki fell onto its left side and slid into a wrought iron fence, ejecting all three passengers, police said.

The child suffered internal bleeding and road rash, Valenta said.

The driver, who is in moderate condition, appears to have a broken leg, police said.

Both individuals were transported to University Medical Center, Valenta said.

Dungan will face charges in the incident, the release said.
