A search-and-rescue team looking for a Las Vegas woman missing for over a week discovered human remains dumped into a ravine near Lake Mead on Saturday.

Red Rock Search and Rescue said a search team found the unidentified body at 7:50 a.m. in a ravine just off Highway 147 a half mile east of Pabco Road, near the entrance to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

Teams in the area were searching for Susana Villalvazo, the 46-year-old Las Vegas woman who disappeared Nov. 5 along with Samuel Teran, 75. The Clark County coroner will determine whether the remains are that of Villalvazo.

Homicide investigators are at the scene gathering evidence, Metro Police Officer Larry Hadfield said.

Villavalzo and Teran has been last seen at a residence in the 3400 block of El Conlon Avenue, near Sahara Avenue and Valley View Boulevard. Teran later shot himself after being confronted by North Las Vegas Police while in his car outside a Burger King on Las Vegas Boulevard. He later died at a hospital.

"We deployed specifically for her today," said David Cummings, commander of Red Rock SAR. "This was one of our areas."

Cummings said two teams were in the area when the body was found.
