Christian Marshall had two touchdown runs today for the Faith Lutheran football team in a 40-10 victory against visiting Boulder City in the Division I-A Southern quarterfinals.

Boulder City took a 3-0 lead with two minutes remaining in the first quarter, but defending state champion Faith Lutheran scored 40 unanswered points to put the game out of reach.

“We made a ton of mistakes tonight. That was the disappointing aspect of the game,” Faith Lutheran coach Vernon Fox said. “But finding the way to overcome those things and get a victory is what it is all about.”

Quarterback Greg Benson hooked up with Mark Rubalcaba on a 48-yard touchdown pass. Benson also had a scoring run.

Faith Lutheran hosts Desert Pines next week in the semifinals. The winner advances to the state semifinals.

“There is a lot of fight with this team,” Fox said.
