Letter to the Editor:

Michael Brown and his ‘mistakes’

Fri, Sep 5, 2014 (2 a.m.)

Ever-reliable Eugene Robinson opines in his Aug. 27 column “When mistakes become deadly” that the 6-foot-4, 300-pound, 18-year-old Michael Brown “made mistakes,” including “walking in the middle of the street” with “a box of cigars that he apparently took from a convenience store.”

Do either of these actions strike you as “mistakes?” I submit both were intentional actions, and the taking constituted one or more criminal actions.

Is either a capital offense? No.

Is a police officer who defends himself against an attack that could reasonably result in serious bodily injury or death to himself guilty of any criminal offense? No.
