Broken water main causes flooding on Boulder Highway

Thu, Sep 25, 2014 (8:53 a.m.)

A broken water main caused flooding and was tying up traffic on Boulder Highway this morning, according to the Las Vegas Water District.

A fault with a 30-inch steel main about 4 a.m. near Sahara Avenue left five businesses without water, and a southbound lane of Boulder Highway were blocked as work crews excavated to find the leak, officials said. Two travel lanes remained open.

Water District spokesman Bronson Mack said the main would likely be fixed after the evening rush hour.
