Officers closed some roads as they investigated a suspicious object downtown Monday evening, according to Metro Police.

Police received a report about 7:40 p.m. of the object on 10th Street between Fremont Street and Carson Avenue, Lt. David Gordon said.

By about 11 p.m., police had determined the package was not an explosive, he said.

Occupants at 1023 Fremont St. chose to remain in place during the incident rather than evacuate, Gordon said.

There were road closures on 10th between Fremont and Carson and on Carson between 9th and 11th Streets during the investigation, he said.

Metro's Armor unit was on scene, Gordon said.
