Subcommittee to study Nevada water laws

CARSON CITY — A legislative subcommittee was named today to study Nevada’s water laws.

State Sen. Pete Goicoechea, R-Eureka, was named chairman of the newly created special subcommittee. The committee will meet six times next year and make recommendations to be presented to the 2017 Legislature.

The first meeting will be in January or February.

Other members of the subcommittee are Senate Minority Leader Aaron Ford, Sen. Joe Hardy, Assemblywoman Maggie Carlton and Assemblyman James Oscarson.
